The Gems and Jewellery Design Department of PIFD is also conducting a two-weeks Basic Lapidary Workshop from 17th May, 2025, at Skardu Campus. This comprehensive program is designed to empower the local community of Skardu with fundamental skills in transforming rough mineral into precisely cut gemstones. Through a unique blend of theoretical foundations and hands-on training, participants are gaining a deep understanding of basic lapidary techniques. The workshop covers essential topics, including cabochon making, stone carving, and introductory faceting, providing students with a solid foundation in gem study and cutting. By combining practical expertise with conceptual knowledge, this workshop is fostering a new generation of skilled professionals in the field of lapidary in Skardu.
