VC PIFD participates in 5th Vice Chancellor Forum of Universities in Islamic World

The Vice Chancellor, Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Prof. Hina Tayyaba Khalil participated in the 5th Vice-Chancellors’ Forum of Universities in the Islamic World on the theme “Towards Disruptive Technology in a Globalised World” held in Islamabad on March 19 and 20, 2023.
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain was the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony while Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal chaired the closing ceremony.
Over 200 Vice Chancellors, including 40 from 20 different OIC countries, participated in the VC Forum that was jointly organized by Higher Education Commission (HEC), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and British Council, Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Vice Chancellors’ Forum is the congregation of Vice Chancellors/ Rectors/ Presidents of the universities/ degree awarding institutes of the Islamic world. It is a non-political forum in which Vice Chancellors/ Rectors/ Presidents of the universities/ degree awarding institutes interact with each other. It provides them networking opportunities and brings them under one roof in which they may discuss and collaborate with each other. The Forum provided a platform to University leaders for fostering collaboration, strengthening cooperation and encouraging dialogue among them and the institutes they represent.
