This year marks the beginning of the 4 years degree programme. It sets the groundwork for all the advanced courses ahead. Here you learn the fundamentals of design and art and develop an understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of art and design.
The year exposes you to the fundamentals of visual understanding in fine art and design history with a particular focus on enhancing written expression and introducing the strategies of analysis and customizing design processes. The practical element of the Foundation in Art and Design introduces experimentation in a range of creative practices including Fashion, Graphics, Materials and Models and Digital Communication.
Studio courses provide a transformative experience with several mediums and approaches towards design production, while theory courses provide conceptual frameworks dealing with history and its interpretation. In this very year you are exposed to various practices on how to visually articulate your ideas for your intended audience.
