Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design seeks to produce graduates who are able to combine design capability with manufacturing dexterity to create products that are functional and aesthetically appealing. It also equips the students with necessary management and marketing tools in order to promote these products in the markets around the world. PIFD endeavors to create a new generation of creative designers and highly skilled entrepreneurs to cater for the demand of the new millennium.
I have been part of this premier institute since as its establishment as School of Fashion Design and through the subsequent years of its transformation into Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, a Federally Chartered Public Sector Institute specializing in the fields of Fashion and Design. Since its humble beginning in a rented building, and offering only one program of study, the Institute has grown immensely in stature and diversity. Presently, it is housed in a purpose-built campus with a covered area of 3, 82,499 sq ft, and comprises four Faculties/Schools which offer seven programs of study. Academic programs are developed in close association with our stakeholders in government and industry while syllabi are designed and improved through consistent affiliation and extensive collaboration with renowned and leading institutes throughout the world.
PIFD has almost 100% employment ratio. It offers unchartered career opportunities in Pakistan and abroad. PIFD's alumni are prominent among the recognized torch-bearers of Pakistan's nascent and promising fashion industry. Its environment and facilities chisel the sensibilities and aesthetics of students and equip them with innovative, analytical and technical skills together with diverse exposure necessary to explore endless possibilities of creating products for the global consumer. Indirectly, it contributes in cultural and industrial growth of the country.
PIFD's achievements have been possible due to continuous Government patronage, support of stakeholder in industry and untiring efforts of professionals in our team. The confidence reposed in us by our partners provides impetus to move forward. I envisage a bright future for PIFD and its graduates.
